Our Asian communities have received a bit of a battering lately. What with the fierce Immigration debate in and out of parliament and the governments decision to raise the levels of English for new migrants coming to this country. Asia Down Under has already addressed these issues in its programmes with reactions from the Asian communities but we will continue to keep viewers informed of any new developments. Its quite clear from feedback already received that many people in the Asian communities are very concerned the communities will suffer from divisions sparked by the recent debates. So if you have a view please message us through the email on this site. In the meantime the Asia Down Under series this year is continuing through to January 19 in 2003 because several times through the year the programme was not broadcast to accommodate such special events as the Commonwealth Games and the death of the Queen Mother. We will present a special Christmas edition on December 22 and some thought provoking programmes for the New Year. We also wish all people of all different backgrounds, cultures and religions the very best for the festive season and for the coming year. Our staff are all dedicated to bringing you the best stories from the Asian communities but you can send your story ideas and comments through this site or phone us on 09-379-7888 or fax us on 09-308-9888 anytime. Asia Down Under is made for TV ONE by Asia Vision Ltd with New Zealand on Air funding from an office at 501 Karangahape Road in Auckland.
