Great War Stories is a series of short (3-4 minute) films which tell personal stories about a range of New Zealanders who were impacted by the First World War. Each story draws on research into primary texts such as letters, diaries and newspaper accounts and be illustrated with images drawn from the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library and Archives New Zealand. The stories include soldiers, but also people on the home front, such as lovers and family, who were affected by the First World War. A combined project of the Alexander Turnbull library, Archives New Zealand and Manatū Taonga - Ministry for Culture and Heritage, and funded by NZ on Air.
