Two Anishnaabe children, Kiwedin and Wabikoni, are taken from their families by Oblates and forcibly sent to a residential school to eradicate their Indigenous culture and identity.
The moment of truth has now come for Mrs. Turcotte. Rémi accepts the impacts of his actions and the reality that only time can heal the scars left by his past.
Kiwedin’s letters are no longer enough to alleviate Wabikoni’s pain and their relationship is no longer what it used to be. Kiwedin wants to flee the residential school with his friend.
After a short summer, Kiwedin and Wabikoni have to leave their parents once again for the residential school but this time their younger brother Édouard will be joining them.
