Natural history documentaries from throughout the world. Describes some very poisonous marine animals found in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef, such as: the box jellyfish; sea snakes; a small octopus with blue rings; and the cone snail. Introduces scientists working on the venom produced by these creatures to find the chemical composition of the venom and how it reacts in other prey species. Because it generally acts on the nervous system, the venom is also being tested for possible beneficial uses in medical research such as painkillers.
