Waka Huia travels to the eastern Bay of Plenty, to the tranquil seaside location of Ōtamarākau Marae. We profile the resident hapu Ngāti Mākino and their quest to maintain and preserve their traditional homelands, histories and whakapapa for the future generations to nurture and uphold. This documentary follows Ngāti Mākino kaumatua as they re-trace and share their memories and stories of life on Otamarakau Marae.
