This film interweaves fiction and biography, history and memory to explore the life of Daisy Bates, who lived with Aboriginal people from the 1900s until her death in 1951. Kabbarli is a collage, pieced together from Daisy's notebooks, oral accounts, letters, archival photos and newspaper articles. It is part dramatic recreation and part stylised documentary.
