  • 1Is is sexism within the health sector? Advocates are pointing to the state of mens' health as evidence that there is a bias in our health system. New research based in Canterbury has found that despite men being more likely to suffer heart disease and many common cancers, there is much more targeting of women in health promotion. It backs other research from the European Mens' Health Forum which finds that in New Zealand mens' health receives little attention as a public health issue.
