  • 2It's an ambitious plan aimed at closing the digital divide between New Zealand and the rest of the world. The Pacific Fibre undersea cable project linking this country to Australia and the United States would cost up to $900-million and aims to break the near monopoly of the Southern Cross Cable which is half owned by Telecom New Zealand. The project is backed by The Warehouse founder, Stephen Tindall and TradeMe founder, Sam Morgan.
