  • 1The Commissioner for the Enviroment Dr. Jan Wright had written a report calling for wider use of 1080 poison to protect native plants and animals, saying without it kiwi could vanish from native habitats within a generation. She is asking for the laws on its use to be simplified and the removal of all bans on its use. Professor Charles Eason is professor of Wildlife Management from Lincoln University's Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences - he's researching alternatives to 1080.
