The Defence review has named South East Asia as the world's most dangerous trouble centre, and the area has featured in the news all week. Indonesia, after the attempted coup in September 1965, has the army in power but their economic problems are increasing and there is conflict with Malaysia. In the whole area the non-communist governments are less stable than the communist ones and there is a need for regional co-operation.
