This interview has the subtitle 'Concepts of Freedom'. In February 1966 the two Soviet writers Andrei Sinyavsky and Yuli Daniel were sentenced under Article 70 of the Russian Criminal Code. This interview debates the freedom of writers and artists and their roles in both the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and Great Britain. Participants are Alexander Chakovsky, Chief Editor of the Literary Gazette in Moscow, and member of the Administrative Council of the Union of Soviet Writers and Malcolm Muggeridge, broadcaster and writer.
