  • 1 TV. Industrial relations was a key issue at the Labour Party conference. There was a move by unionists to get protection from Supreme Court injunctions during industrial disputes. But, putting unions beyond the reach of the law was strongly opposed, as this would lead to anarchy. Extracts from the conference speeches and an interview with the key speakers.

    • Bill Anderson was released on the morning of 3rd July. Tom Skinner (FOL President) was sent to see Bill in prison and it was in Mount Eden that the Seamenā€˜s claims were met. The settlement was presented to a stop work meeting by Tom Skinner and, once endorsed, a court hearing was held and Bill was let out.
