Broadcaster John Gordon who presented the radio programme "Appointment with John Gordon", on National Radio reads from his autobiography where he recalls the changing New Zealand scene through two world wars and three generations. This programme talks about 1ZB and Aunt Daisy, and advertisers. He describes meeting Count Von Luckner in 1939 who had returned to New Zealand on his yacht. Von Luckner had been a First Word War prisoner on Motuehe Island, and escaped. Also a wartime fundraising effort on 1ZB - unheard of at the time.
