Poutoa Papali'i is studying Engineering at AUT. Papali’l is a Title that was bestowed on their tupuna Vai’nuipō a Maliatoa who was the first to welcome Christianity to Samoa. The village of Sapapali’i is on the island of Savai’i. For Poutoa this is an opportunity to reconnect with his Samoan fanau and the village that they originate from.

Reconnecting Māori whānau from around the country with their 'other side' or ancestors from abroad. For more than 200 years migrants from many countries have made their way to Aotearoa, establishing families with local Māori.
