Dubbed the Maori hogwarts, this quirky marae is also a leader in sustainability and community enrichment: A progressive ten story, urban whanau Marae, built entirely with recalimed timber on a 300 acre block of land in central wellington, Tapu te Ranga is unusual and inspirational. [Sadly, not long after this episode was recorded Tapu te Ranga Marae was destroyed in a fire, hopefully to be rebuilt in the future.]

This season Marae DIY has a fresh focus on kaitiakitanga. Transforming marae in 4 days and extending beyond the whare to the whenua.
