A forward thinking sustainability plan for a busy Marae: An important and busy Marae used by forestry gangs, school children, matariki, social events and tangihanga. However Oruawharo admit lacking even the basic systems to look after their waste… rubbish is being thrown over the back fence. The DIY is the beginning of a journey to a more sustainable approach to living and upholding kaitiakitanga.
