An adventurous firsthand account of one Onondaga (Iroquois) man, Hickory Edwards, who has devoted his life to the rediscovery of the path of the “Peace Maker.” Relying on knowledge from Elders and intuition to guide his team in the right direction, Hickory hopes to navigate the full waterways and travelling routes long forgotten by his people as he seeks to unlock the ancient trade routes across Haudenosaunee Confederacy waters. Hickory finds himself in a new position as his 5-year-old daughter begins to take interest in her roots and culture. He hopes that by bringing her along, she will get some answers to her query.
