To celebrate 50 years of Te Matatini (originally known as the 'New Zealand Polynesian Festival', then later as the 'Aotearoa Traditional Māori Performing Arts Festival') Te Matatini has created an album that holds 50 waiata from the past 50 years, split into three categories. This is a series of behind the scenes short films documenting the making of the album. The third category, Te Matakōkiri, represents 12 waiata from across the 50 years of the Festival will be selected and re-recorded in production format with input and feedback from Te Matatini audiences.
