Lee's teasing and noirish film creates a tantalising mood of uncertainty and complexity, with the story's themes of class, family, rage and lust rising feverishly to the surface.(Based on the short story "Barn Burning" from The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami, with elements inspired by William Faulkner's story of the same name.)
