The Eriwata homestead, nestled along the Waiwhakaiho River in Ngā Motu was one of the very first houses in the area and an important pit stop for whanau travelling to Parihaka. This refurbished homestead, built in the 1920s, served as a bastion of hope after the immense loss suffered by the Eritawa whānau.
