“Michif Country” welcomes Métis actor and screenwriter Kyle Nobess on a commercial fishing expedition with the Chartrand family. Kyle’s grandfather grew up in St. Laurent, so it is also an opportunity for him to connect with his ancestry.
The St. Laurent Métis nation on Lake Manitoba has the most active and talented hunters, trappers, and fishermen in the community. To this day, they remain a vibrant community that has successfully preserved their language and traditional lifestyle.
