Thirteen New Zealand athletes will begin their events in the Los Angeles Olympics tomorrow. Despite the carnival and highly commercialised atmosphere pervading Los Angeles, athletes from the Soviet Union and most Eastern Bloc countries were conspicuous by their absence.
