1A Titirangi, Auckland, couple, now known as John and Lee Martin, have admitted that they deserted their five children, Susan, Steven, Martin, Jane and Lee-Ann Sabine, 15 years ago in 1969. After appearing on Eyewitness news last night the couple confirm they are the Sabines. On Eyewitness tonight there is the story of an attempted re-union with two of the daughters.
2After two years of negotiations, Britain and China have reached agreement about the future of Hong Kong. China will retain sovereignty over the domain in 1997 when Britain's lease expires and has pledged to retain Hong Kong's democracy until 2047.
