1The debate over sex education in schools is gaining momentum. This week, the Education Amendment Bill, which will clear the path for sex instruction in schools, is expected back before Parliament from a Select Committee. Following that, a new health syllabus, including sex education, will be introduced to 38 schools as part of a pilot programme. Education Minister Russell Marshall admits this is a cautious approach to introducing sex education in schools. He has been criticised on one side for going too far too fast, while others say he has not gone far enough.
