There is a growing sense among New Zealanders that the criminal justice system is becoming too soft on criminals. Interview with Justice Minister Geoffrey Palmer about The Criminal Justice Amendment Bill which tries to balance the need to toughen up on crime with the pressures of an overflowing prison system, followed by a look at inconsistencies within the present justice system.
