  • 1One For All A major rift is developing in the trade union movement which centres on a proposal that the Federation of Labour (FOL) be combined with the public sector unions under the umbrella of a new parent body to be called the Council of Trade Unions (CTU). This would provide one central coordinating body for all trade unionists. However, some groups are violently opposed, especially the National Union of Railwaymen (NUR).
