A current affairs show hosted by Sharon Crosbie.

  • 1Does today's complex society need censorship? Brought up with an almost overwhelming variety of entertainment, it seems as though anything goes. Video cassette recorders (VCRs) allow people to indulge in escapist fantasies at home - some people believe to an alarming degree. They argue that New Zealanders, especially children are put at risk by the easy availability of erotic, pornographoc, violent or depraved material. Do we need saving from ourselves? Should someone decide for us when enough is enough? Or have we all reached a level of sophistication that no longer requires strong censorship from outside? Is family judgement enough? Interview with Chief Film Censor Arthur Everard.
