Television New Zealand's flagship evening news bulletin.

  • 1More earthquakes rocked the Bay of Plenty today, and the state of emergency remains in force tonight. Relief agencies are assessing the cost of the damage, estimated to be millions of dollars. However, the quake has also caused psychological scars, with many people reluctant to return home to begin the clean-up process. The repairs to the Tasman Pulp and Paper Mill in Kawerau will be extensive and are expected to take a long time. Teams of scientists and geologists have swarmed into the Bay of Plenty earthquake zone to assess the damage to the landscape.
