1Auckland's Lack of Rental Properties Auckland's lack of rental properties is causing frustration for prospective tenants and resulting in high rent costs. Landlords are also asking for a credit rating formula where the net earnings would be about three times the rent, which it is feared will add to the problems of tenants with lower earnings.
