With the deregulation of the foreign exchange markets, businesses have been setting up in places where the exchange rate is better, and the costs are lower. One country attracting considerable New Zealand investment is Chile. The Minister of Overseas Trade Mike Moore has been there to promote economic ties following some of New Zealand's largest firms who see it as an 'El Dorado'. However, Chile also has a reputation of human rights abuses, a country where people just disappear.
