TVNZ’s flagship, primetime current affairs show which ran from March 1988 to December 1994. It replaced current affairs show "Closeup', which ran from 1980 to the end of 1987.

  • 1Australia and New Zealand As One "Part of the inevitable march of history" is how prominent Australian judge Justice Michael Kirby describes the prospect of New Zealand and Australia eventually joining in political union. Economic links between the two countries are already well established with New Zealand-Australia Closer Economic Relations (CER) negotiated by the Muldoon National Government. Further negotiations are under way that could lead to an extension of CER, with some saying that with economies so tightly locked, both countries need to operate as one political unit.
