TVNZ’s flagship,primetime current affairs show which ran from March 1988 to December 1994. It replaced current affairs show "Closeup', which ran from 1980 to the end of 1987.

1Promises, Promises . . . The Treaty of Waitangi has been the story of the last decade, with the hikoi, the land march, Bastion Point, and now a tribunal besieged with claims going back 150 years and objectors who say forget the past, let's get on with being New Zealand. And that is why there has been so much dithering on commemorating 1990. The Government was divided on whether there should be a party, or something a bit more modest. And they opted for modesty. Because there are increasing numbers of people in an election year who wonder if New Zealand has anything to celebrate or defend in 150 years of history.
