2Local Government Minister Dr Michael Bassett has frozen Auckland Harbour Board Trust funds of $24 million meant to be used for enhancing the use and safety of the harbours, including the Maritime Museum. However the Harbour Board is about to be disestablished and its assets going to the Auckland Regional Council (ARC). Bassett says the funds have been 'stolen' and should go to the ARC.
