  • 3Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands was the scene of the first allied counter-attack against the Japanese in World War Two and there are reminders of the conflict all over the island, including unexploded grenades, bombs and land mines. No-one knows how many local people were killed and many of them are still confused over what the war was about. They also think that the Japanese and Americans should return and clean up their island.
