Encounter With Evil Correspondent: Kim Webby Producer: Damien Comerford She is another one of the faces that seem so familiar, yet not many knew her. To her family, Marie Jamieson was an angel who was taken brutally - her 'Encounter with Evil' cutting her life tragically short. To the rest of us, Marie is another victim of a heinous crime, someone we feel sad for, and who now we will never get to know. As the youngest of five, her idyllic farm lifestyle later lead to her moving to Auckland in pursuit of her dream - to become a hairdresser. Police investigating the murder of Marie Jamieson, who was seeking help for drug and alcohol problems, received crucial information in an anonymous handwritten letter last month, revealing who they believed to be Marie's killer, and asking the police "not to pass up the opportunity to wipe out this freak". For Marie's family nothing will ever dull the pain, and they want to see her killer behind bars. Kim Webby talks with Marie's father, and to the police about the investigation. Why is this letter so important and how do they know it's genuine? [15/04/01] Outbreak Correspondent: Liz Hayes Producer: Gareth Harvey It is one of the most deadly diseases on earth - Ebola. There is no cure and once there is an 'Outbreak' it kills with frightening speed. The only way for scientists to study it is during an outbreak. And the last major outbreak occurred in the tiny town of Gulu in Uganda. In her most dangerous assignment yet, Liz Hayes accompanied a team of scientists and doctors into the "hot zone". Her report is a frightening insight into the horror of this awful disease. What is even more disturbing is that some scientists fear that Ebola may just be the beginning of a new wave of killer viruses. [15/04/01] Rags-To-Riches Correspondent: Liz Hayes Producers: Gareth Harvey, Sandra Clearey Her clients are A-list - Kylie Minogue, Elle MacPherson, Sarah O'Hare and Jennifer Lopez. Her fashion is worn everywhere from Russia to Rodeo Drive and her tale is quite literally a 'Rags-to-Riches' inspiration. In just 10 years, Collette Dinnigan has gone from making lace knickers for friends to running a multi-million dollar business. Raised in New Zealand, now based in Australia she's been invited to parade her feminine frocks and sexy lingerie on the haughty Parisian catwalks. In the fashion capital of the world, there is no greater honour than that. The stylish Collette Dinnigan is proving to be one of Australasia's best exports. [15/04/01]
