1For Love or Money A childless couple who were offered the chance to have a baby by a surrogate mother who they had never met. The story of what happened and what went wrong. Correspondent: Janet McIntyre Producer: Damien Comerford It seemed like a dream come true for Kiwi couple Peter and Ali. Unable to have children of their own, Kate Cox, agreed to be a surrogate mother. But was it 'For Love or Money'. Cox, a mother of three herself, says if she can help those who are unable to conceive naturally - it's the least she can do. And of course, she is compensated for her trouble. For Peter and Ali the story should have had a fairytale ending. But as Janet McIntyre discovered - this story has anything but. After Kate, the surrogate mum, had two miscarriages, Ali and Pete were left devastated and approximately $10,000 poorer, and they still don't have a baby. McIntyre also investigates discrepancies in Kate's claims as to when she was and was not pregnant and when she had or had not miscarried. [02/09/01]

Correspondent: Tara Brown Producer: Sallie Stone We see it every day. It's everywhere we look. In our glossy magazines, movies and ads, there is a constant bombardment of perfect people and perfect bodies. It's quite unrelenting and it's destroying the self-image of a generation of men. Yes, men. Men are now striving harder than ever to get better body images and 'The Look' that they think is desirable. It appears that men are now under just as much pressure as women to look perfect. As Tara Brown reports, no longer is it just women who are tormented by the need to be slimmer, prettier or shapelier. Men are now feeling the pressure to be something they're not. [02/09/01]
