The first of the Election Leader's Debates with Helen Clark, Don Brash, Winston Peters, Rodney Hide, Jeannette Fitzsimons and Tariana Turia. Peter Dunne and Jim Anderton were late editions after a court decision forced TV3 to include them in the debate. The debate also includes 'the reactor' which is also known as 'the worm', which shows the reaction of an audience of 130 undecided voters to what is being said by the leaders. Leaders discuss the issues of importance to them and what their party would do about the issue if they were in Government. Issues include education, student loans, tax cuts, preserving the 'Kiwi' way of life, immigration, asset sales, the environment, raising the minimum wage, a universal child benefit, transforming the energy system into something more sensible and sustainable. Plus discussion by leaders of which parties they feel they can work with in Parliament.
