1It is alleged that many children who were placed in homes in efforts take them out of less-than-idyllic lives, ended up worse off than they were to start with. Now, years later, they are trying for compensation from the State.
2When Hamilton physiotherapist Pam Hewitt treated four young children with hand injuries from escalators in just 18 months, she wondered if there was a bigger problem at play. All of them were mutilating, serious injuries with long term consequences for the children involved. So Hewitt decided to find out how common these injuries really are, and was surprised at what she found.
3Later this year New Zealand�s first national conference for women who have been affected by breast cancer will take place in Rotorua. Alongside the conference will be a creative expo. This will bring together the talents of many women who have survived breast cancer, and who are sharing their stories through art. Christchurch artist Lynne Lambert, a breast cancer survivor, is travelling the country with her exhibition.
