  • 1It was 41 years ago this week that the late Dame Te Atairangikaahu succeeded her father, Koroki as leader of the Kingitanga. On Wednesday Kingitanga followers used the occasion to not only remember a revered leader, but to also close a final chapter on her reign, in anticipation of the upcoming first anniversary of her son Tuheitia as the new head of the Maori monarchy.
