  • 1The Woman Who Swims With Killer Whales At eight metres long and weighing more than 5000 kilos, the Orca is one of the oceans most feared killers. Most would consider it madness to enter the water with them, but Dr Ingrid Visser thinks differently. She is the only scientist in the world to swim with the species. By swimming with the whales, Dr Visser has come to know almost all of New Zealands Orca by sight. But her research has also uncovered a trend which threatens their very existence despite more than eight years of protection, the New Zealand Orca population of about 200 is showing no signs of growing. Now 60 Minutes follows Dr Vissers mission to find out what's going on, revealing disturbing new information about the health of our oceans.
