The earthquake felt much like a big shake the month ago. House collapsed in Nelson. They have been seven after-shocks. There are no tsunami threats. I was in the newsroom for the one last month. This was longer in duration. Was very sharp and unpleasant. A filing cabinet fell. IT was strong enough everybody to run for doorways. There are still after-shocks being felt. We are looking down on to Lambton quay and a lot of people have been evacuated. The CBD is largely unscathed. They have been a spate of after-shocks. Cellular networks are overloaded.
