THIS BREAKING NEWS BULLETIN WILL BE CAPTIONED LIVE. A SEVERE EARTHQUAKE AT THE TOP OF THE SOUTH ISLAND HAS SEEN PEOPLE FLEEING HOMES AND OFFICES IN THE REGION. THERE'S GRIDLOCK IN THE CAPITAL, WITH TRAINS CANCELLED AND BUS SERVICES UNDER EXTREME PRESSSURE. THE 6.2 QUAKE HIT 10 KILOMETRES SOUTH EAST OF SEDDON AND HAS BEEN FOLLOWED BY A NUMBER OF STRONG AFTERSHOCKS, NOW IT'S BACK TO SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING. Wellington has experienced a big shake ` 6.2 near Seddon. There has been superficial damage. There is traffic congestion and big traffic jams because everyone is trying to go home at the same time. We had no reports of any injuries except one woman who dived under a table at a cafe and got hit by the table don't rush home. Make contact with your family. Text instead of phoning. The lines are busy. Make an emergency plan and meet somewhere. Everything is business as usual, but it'll take time to get home there are no reports of injuries. It's not clear how much damage has been done. BUT WE'VE PICTURES OF ONE COLLAPSED HOUSE IN SEDDON.
