  • 1Last week, New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters raised a series of questions about illegal activity by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (SIS) and the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) in Parliament. They were inspired by information has he has obtained on a joint SIS and Police raid last year on the Auckland home of former Fijian Cabinet Minster Rajesh Singh. Peter says the SIS acted illegally during the raid and suggests that Singh - a New Zealand resident -is one of the more than 80 New Zealanders spied on illegally by the GCSB. But he has also quoted a text from Fiji's Commander of Land Forces to Rajesh Singh, saying he was about to be raided by the SIS and received by Singh at the exact time of the raid. To date, the Government has dismissed Peters' questions, but does he have more to come? Interview with New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters.

Peter says the SIS acted illegally during the raid and suggests that Singh - a New Zealand resident -is one of the more than 80 New Zealanders spied on illegally by the GCSB. Rajesh Singh was Minister fro Youth and Sport in the last democratically-elected Government of Fiji, ousted in 2006 by Commodore Frank Bainimarama's military coup. He is now a permanent New Zealand resident, but remains active in the Fijian Freedom and Democracy Movement. He speaks for the first time about what happened during the strange raid on his home by the SIS and the Police, and his incredible text exchanges leading up to, and during the raid, with Fiji's Commander of Land Forces, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga.
