GRN CORRESPONDENT DEON DE LANGE IS IN PARIS AND JOINS US VIA PHONE NOW. DEON, WHAT'S THE LATEST? The streets of Paris are absolutely deserted. Apart from the first responders and the police. People have shut themselves away and heeed the call to stay indoors. Some coffee shops are open, but the lights are all turned off inside. Tensions are very high. 153 people may have been killed. I am currently standing about 100 m away from the Bataclan Theatre. The highest death toll was possibly more than 100 people there. I spoke to residents who lives just one street away from the theatre. He had just arrived in the neighbourhood when the gunfire broke out and he saw a young man with looked like what an AK-47. He was confronted by policemen. Later he reported seeing several bodies being carried out of the theatre under covers. He received a sad call from a friend who said his daughter was in the theatre when the attack occurred. She phoned him while the attack took place and was asking for help. They lost connection and the father has heard that his daughter was dead, and she apparently took a bullet to the face. That will be one of very many sad stories from Paris this evening. THANK YOU. THAT'S GRN CORRESPONDENT DEON DE LANGE IN PARIS. ONE NEWS POLITICAL EDITOR CORIN DANN JOINS US NOW. AND, CORIN, ANY UPDATE ON WHETHER NZERS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT UP IN THE ATTACKS? Prime Minister John key has just landed in Darwin. He has confirmed that his daughter is safe. He has issued a short statement. The New Zealand authorities are working on whether any New Zealanders have been caught up or harmed in any way. The French authorities are yet to name any nationalities. We will have to wait a bit longer on that score. The Prime Minister has strongly condemned these attacks. He says that New Zealand stands strongly alongside France in defending terror attacks. If you think that ISIS is responsible, we have many countries standing by France. It is of grave concern to New Zealand. There will be a ONE News special from 5 PM to 6 PM. THANKS. THAT'S ONE NEWS POLITICAL EDITOR CORIN DANN. NZER EMMA OGILVIE LIVES IN PARIS AND REGULARLY DINES AT ONE OF THE RESTAURANTS TARGETED. SHE SAYS SHE'S BEEN TOO SCARED TO LEAVE HER HOUSE. You can hear sirens and ambulances. We have not dared to go outside. A friend of a friend of mine was at the restaurant. I heard news that he was hiding under the table. There were pieces of people everywhere. A child on the floor. It is quite shocking. A QUICK RECAP IF YOU'RE JUST JOINING US. IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED THAT ALL GUNMEN IN THE PARIS TERROR ATTACKS HAVE NOW BEEN KILLED. ISIS IS CELEBRATING THE ATTACKS WHICH HAVE LEFT AT LEAST 153 PEOPLE DEAD. MOST OF THE VICTIMS WERE THEATREGOERS WHO WERE HELD HOSTAGE AND KILLED AT THE BATACLAN CONCERT HALL IN THE CENTRE OF THE CITY. ELSEWHERE GUNMEN ATTACKED RESTAURANTS AND BARS ACROSS THE CITY, AND TWO SUICIDE BOMBERS ARE REPORTED TO HAVE TARGETED THE STADE DE FRANCE, WHERE A FRIENDLY FOOTBALL MATCH WAS UNDERWAY BETWEEN FRANCE AND GERMANY.
