A very warm welcome to you, bright and shining morning. Here is Christ the Redeemer, giving his blessing to the rowing regatta here at Rio 2016. We are going to crack on with the rowing at these Olympic Games. Back to the starting line. Eric Murray and Hamish Bond dominates. The overwhelmingfavourite of the gold medal. Christ the Redeemer looking down on to the lagoon. South Africa, Great Britain, New Zealand. Murray and bond - unbeaten in just seven years, overwhelming favourites. The Olympic final is underway in the men's pair. It's all about Bond and Murray. Can anyone get to these rowers? Nathan Twaddle alongside me won bronze in Beijing. This Kiwi pair are something else. These guys are pretty special. We never beat them in training. I think we will see the flying start from the Italian scheduled up. There went up with real gusto. South Africans as well. Great start from them. They start well in all races so far. Australia, New Zealand will start to pick those guys back. The New Zealanders don't stop coming. They know what the New Zealanders can do. Here come bond and Murray. Fourth. Coming up into third place now and hunting down the early pacesetters Brittain and Keeling. Sean Keeling senior debut in 2008. South Africa are ahead at the 500, just ahead of the Italians. It is a tremendous that the Italians have got their pair into this final. It was earmarked for this boat, but they rejigged things around Great Britain falling back a bit. Watching there is the Kiwis. Eric Murray - he's been a monster. He can throw down no matter what the distance. Bond is not the tallest guy in the field. His work ethic is well known. Here they go now. Rolling through the Italians. At the moment holding on to a good silver medal. Great Britain trying to push back. We haven't mentioned the Australians yet. Not quite in the running at the moment is. They make it look so easy, so effortless. Bond and the stroke seat, Murray behind him in the bow. He started his Olympic career back in Athens - fifth in the four, aand in seven in Beijing before they partnered up. GB up in third. It is the race within the race. They are just relentless. They swing around with the bodies a lot. The coach also coaches the men's eight. Australian pedigree with golds. I think he had his hands full with the personality of this crew. Handlebar moustache of Eric Murray. they can look how they want if they go this fast. We have built up a lead by a second and a half by halfway. There is the pattern. It is Italy going really really well. They saw something in them. Going well. New Zealand - Bond and Murray have won every elite regatta. They have won every world at 2012 Olympics since. Shades of the London race here, with the New Zealanders miles in front. They just keep going and going. This is part of why they have stayed so good. They never let hammer off. They treat every race is a chance to test themselves. South Africa. Italy and South Africa. South Africa back in the silver position. GB pushed into third. What can the Italians do to respond? Italy up to 40 as well, looking to surge. It will be another gold medal and another win for Murray and bond. After that it is South Africa and GB being rocked back now by the Italians. What pace from Italy here. GB starting to struggle. No doubting the gold medallists and Olympic champions - the first gold medal for New Zealand at this Olympics! New Zealand Olympic champions! Two-time Olympic champions. Amazing result on them. South Africa into, and Britain pushed out by the Italians. A brilliant bronze for the Italians. Australia nowhere. Murray and Bond have another gold medal. They are streets ahead of the field. There was a lot of pressure and expectations. We knew that. We have done such an amazing thing for ourselves. We are thankful for the support of New Zealand. We didn't go there to defend anything. We had to take it. We were able to hammer it through the middle. Gold medallists and Olympic champions - new zealand! They are just too good for the rest, whoever the rest are. Eric Murray! Gold medallist himself presenting the medals. Everyone back in New Zealand - first gold medal of this Olympics. These two have secured their place in the upper echelons of the sports, Of the New Zealand sporting landscape to. Set beautifully in the hills just the North of Rio, it is the Whitewater Stadium. Right here it is the canoe slalom course. One of the most difficult constructions that took place before the Olympics began. There is hugely appreciated, and the paddlers here having a whale of a time. Luuka Jones - New Zealand. Looks like she's about to fall asleep. Still looks absolutely relaxed. What's going on inside her mind? Had a very very good game so far. A world rankning of 28. If she can get on the podium, there is sensational. She has paddled so well here in Rio. She has been improving and improving, travelling well. how is the first but I'm going to look? 2 seconds inside the time. What a start! Ttrying so hard to get upstream quickly. Extra effort demanded there. You need a strong core for this event. She is putting everything through her body at the moment, trying to do something no New Zealander has done before. She is putting an enormous energy. There is no chance of a 52nd penalty as Luuka Jones goes towards the final upstream gate. She made it. This is looking fantastic. Way quicker than her semi-final time. Jones of New Zealand - a bit quicker than anyone else. Surely the run of her life. World ranked 22. Eight years ago she didn't make it out of heats. Luuka Jones in second place. The silver medal - first for NZ. The bronze for Jessica Fox. What story this is. Luuka Jones of New Zealand If you have never heard the word Luuka before... she was named after the son of Audrey Hebburn, because her mother was a fan. The spelling was feminised. The first female slalom to represent New Zealand at these games. She has taken to new heights. I can't believe it. Congratulations. Silver medallist. I think it's just sinking in. I just gave it everything and let nothing out there. They were saying how excited they were. I wasn't thinking anything. My teeth was just bared and I was just going for it. You are based in the UK. What were they thinking? I hope they will be really proud. I have to thank them, because without their support I wouldn't be here. Canoe slalom is not New Zealand sports. You smashed it. One of my goals was to put slalom on the map in NZ. We have a new whitewater course. Hopefully it will grow the sport in New Zealand. Hello and welcome to the brand-new Rio Olympic Velodrome - an absolutely is spectacular sight. Eddie Dawkins, Mitchell and Sam Webster. Mitchell will lead out, Webster man two and Dawkins 3. What a matchup. Very good start for both teams. Germany second there, just struggling to get the wheel and their. New Zealand in the same position. New Zealand will go ahead. Interesting from the New Zealanders. He will come back to the wheel now for the change. This is where Eddie Dawkins is so strong. He will take over from Sam Webster and blast around the track. Dawkins is leaving nothing at home.. New Olympic record! Brilliant ride from New Zealand, confirming their status as serious contenders for the gold medal. He has been a successful sprinter at the past. The coach there. They got a really really good starts. Dawkins is just an absolute beast of the last lap. He has that down to an art. The Kiwi crowd is going crazy. That was a super impressive ride. Weren't fazed by the Olympic record we saw earlier by Great Britain. Still celebrating the athletes, with the fans and the crowds. That was our first medal awarded on the track here in Rio. Now we see the faces of the New Zealanders. Are they feeling the pressure? The crowd goes crazy. This is going to be an exciting race. Great Britain broke the record in the qualifying, New Zealand and the back in the first round, breaking again. The men's team sprint gold medal race. Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster, Eddie Dawkins for NZ. New Zealand second ride just losing the wheel. First ride of New Zealand up. Second a little bit behind. It is Sam Webster for New Zealand. New Zealand have pulled back. Great Britain have got the gold medal to win here. Great Britain the Olympic champions. It is so close. It is Great Britain. What is strong finish from Eddie Dawkins. An Olympic record for Great Britain as well. They are spot-on. They backed themselves. They do every time the Olympic Games comes around. Massive celebrations from the staff, the personnel. Great Britain have done it again. Phenomenal ride for New Zealand, tthe world champions. They have never medalled in this event, so this is a feather in their. Silver medallists - New Zealand! The world champions in London in March. Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster, Eddie Dawkins had to settle for silver. Enthralling final. They picked silver in 2012. Hayden Roulston in 2008 in the individual pursuit. If they keep this trio together, it will be battles with the Great Britain squad. Crowd cheers It's tough. I said that because we push each other further than anyone else could push us. We went out in the first ride, set a personal best. Second ride, aOlympic record. There's not much in it at all. Does it come down to personal mistake or team error? That was the fastest times we have ever ridden. I couldn't be prouder next to these guys here. We ride with our own brand, and and we take the race differently. The great British trio had a stellar ride. They said two Olympic records tonight. They were quicker than us, but we are very proud with what we have achieved. With had a really successful buildup, to come away with a silver medal - we are very proud. Copyright Able 2016 Hello and welcome to the wonderful Olympic golf course. History is made today as golf is readmitted to the Olympic movement after 112 years Danny Lee was born and in South Korea it became a naturalised citizen of New Zealand. He is the youngest ever winner of the US amateur championship. Six months younger than Tiger Woods when he won that. Here is Ryan Fox. He is the son of the legendary Grant Fox, if you're familiar with rugby union. He won the Northern Ireland open. Danny Lee on 16. The sisters had bags of birdie. Marcus Fraser. Third shot. He's only gone and done it again! Marcus Fraser goes to 6 under par. He likes this! Hole-in-one! That was the first hole-in-one at the 2016 Olympic Games. Danny Lee. Wind howling around this 18th. Finishes up and that's a round of 72. Marcus Fraser. Is going to recovering nicely. There was for 63. Five under for the German. It's going to run out of steam I think. This is the nine birdies. Five on the way out. For birdies coming back, and there is a bogey in there as well. This is for the night birdie of the round. 200 m mark right there. Oh. One of the very few with things. And that is the very best we have seen all day. Brilliant shot! Ryan Fox. He's one under par. His birdie putt. Good pace. Good pace. Eagle for Spain's Garcia. Stinson. 17, and here's a little strong. Years and 300 now. He wanted to stay. It might end up in the- that was OK. The film stays there, that was all right. That's all right. This little bit of promentary that comes on the right. And think he is done there rather nicely. He had wonderfully. A big shadow, big cloud goes over. Back into sun. He absolutely crushes it. Pretty neat round of golf. This is a birdie putt. For a 67. Britain's Justin Rose. That's good! Finishing with two birdies on the way home. Came from a great height, didn't it? Second longest drive on 18 today. Gives great height, and that's far better. Not the worst result. Henrik Stenson. His ball did pitch the green. Looks like I'd have stayed there. He gives such a lot of heights with his long arms. Third shot. Oh, yes. Beautiful. If he gets an eagle finish, I would see him go to 5 under. 332 m. That's a heck of a long drive. South African golfer. He is trying to sink the Seagull past. There has only been one eagle so far. A good run on this, but I think he is in the wrong direction. Straight into the cup. Yes, there it is. He's a cool customer, Henrik Stenson. That is a round of 66, with just one bogey. Coming on 13. Birdie finish. Three birdies in the last three holes. He finishes with a 67 after three consecutive birdies. Seven birdies in his round. And that's our leaderboard. Marcus Fraser from Australia has a 63. Garcia had an eagle at the last. The young Chinese player was one under. Brazil had the first ball today. He was the first person to hit it as golf return to the Olympics. Australia had a calamitous 10 on the 10th. You had to find out what happened there. What an Olympic Games Burgess has head. It is a time for cool heads, but when the opportunity comes you have to grab it. Here's Jerry Tuwai. The Fiji side is romping through. Kunatani goes to ground. There is Tuwai. He taken down, but they cannot prevent a try! 54 seconds gone in the final. Fiji impose their will. CROWD CHEERS England to form the core of this team, they too are greatly experienced against the side. The last time that England made the G8, England won. Here is Kunatani. They don't have time to close the gaps. He versus wade through with the offload. And this is the G8 their rampant best! Two tries. And it is Tuwai. CROWD CHEERS and I gained there are gaps opening up and align their. Into the corner. It's all too easy. This is a superb first half performance from the Fijians. They came here as the number one ranked side. They have imposed themselves in every way against Great Britain in this final. CROWD CHEERS you won't have been able to miss him here. The Glasgow Warriors sitting back in Mejia. He will say I have seen it time and time again at training. One of the great offloading games. Fiji are making Great Britain look like second raters. CROWD CHEERS oh! What is there to say? Tom Mitchell doing what he can. Fiji has just scored another try. We have an even got halfway through this final. But this is just fantastic example of what sevens rugby is supposed to be. Lindsey Haig is stepping. The turnover therefrom Fiji, And as Kunatani. That was a little bit cheeky. Lindsay Haig skipping, stepping, two on one. Marcus Watson. Lindsay Haig There. They want to run it out from behind their own goalpost. It's all getting a bit scrappy. Inside the last minute of the final. A try was scored. They are going to go to the video referral to see you have a try was scored. He is against the paint! I think that would be a try. The try has been awarded. And you heard the call from the referee. "Good call, mate!" The silver medals in the bag. They have been far from disgraced, albeit outplayed in the final. It is 1 million smiles from Fiji. Fiji are the Olympic champions! And in what style did they do it! From the first whistle, they dominated.
