That's the question on the minds of Maori media broadcasters across the sector following the shock closure of Newshub's newsroom and the impending job losses at TVNZ. The Prime Minister is refusing to comment on police claims they're looking at taking industrial action over the latest pay offer. The offer which the police association has described as an insult comes as Australia is actively marketing to New Zealand cops offering tens of thousands of dollars more. It's illegal for police officers to strike but many are now considering other forms of industrial action. Waiting for NZ police for Maori statistics in the police force here. The Government and Police association have been negotiating for about a year with the latest offer sent to police officers on Friday but the association didn t ask officers to vote on it. Make a healthy career move Make a healthy career move that's the pitch to New Zealand nurses from across the Tasman leading to calls to priorities local health workers. A recent campaign from Queensland health has targeted medical staff in Aotearoa, Canada and the Uk. It comes amid a backdrop of public service cuts in New Zealand. The New Zealand nurse's organisation's Kerri Nuku says the local sector needs to reduce the number of international nurses. Currently there are 4300 members with New Zealand nurse's organisation who identify as Maori. That's after hundreds of health workers who are Maori have moved to Australia. Te Kapa Haka o Te Rarawa once stood at the national competition, which is now called Te Matatini, back in the 80s. Now, more than 30 years later, the kapa is back to retain, revive and create waiata for their iwi and they're standing at the Tai Tokerau regionals in the whakangahau section. Te Karere went out to Roma Marae, in Ahipara to capture Te Kapa Haka o Te Rarawa at home in action. We're unable to provide subtitles.
