A documentary about Jacqueline Cecelia Sturm (Taranaki, Whakatohea), who reflects on her life and the influences that shaped her writing including her early years in the Taranaki coastal town of Opunake as well as the impact of her local pa, Parihaka. Fostered at age three to a Pakeha family, she was one of the first Maori women to graduate from university and was married to the New Zealand poet, James K. Baxter, becoming a renowned kaituhi (poet) in her own right.
