• An elegant new series based on the New Zealand Film Archive's Te Kohinga Taonga Maori moving image collection, exploring old and treasured pieces of New Zealand film as never before.

Episode Description

• Dr Ranginui Walker talks about the background to James McDonald's films from the Whanganui area, and the axiom, "I am the river the river is me". The films were shot in 1921 during a Dominion Museum ethnographic expedition to the area. Ancestors of the people in the films are interviewed.
