Professor Brian Cox is going in search of the best of British science. Introducing his science heroes, Brian visits the places where they made their discoveries, recreating their experiments and examining their legacy to their scientific descendants.

  • 1Frankenstein's Monster Brian looks at the increasing tension between science’s mission to increase knowledge and the public’s misgivings about its methods and the application of discoveries. Starting with chemist and inventor Humphrey Davy (the inspiration for one of Frankenstein’s principle characters), the episode goes on to look at the discovery of DNA and the modern day controversial science of genetically modified food and three parent embryos.
