It had everybody a little scared, 'because, you know, the president doesn't just get up 'and leave a press conference like that. (continues indistinctly) 'You know, everyone was terrified in that conference room. 'But we don't know what made the president get up and leave that press conference, 'But, you know, we deserve some answers, I think, 'from the government.' - Hey, what's up, man? - What's up? - (siren wailing in distance) (rock music playing) (chatter) Oh, it's like a (speaks indistinctly). Oh, my God, John. John. - 'John.' - Dr. Scott, buddy. Hey, man, what's up? - Got a nut. - Oh, nut. How does it feel to get out of school? Awesome. School's kicking my ass though. That shit was wack. Moving on to bigger and better things now, though. Speaking of which, who do we have here? Oh, this is Samantha. Samantha, this is John. Samantha lives down the street from me. I know Samantha. - Now Scott here's a doctor. - Hold on ` veterinarian. But he's also one of the best guys I know. I've to warn you he will find a way to screw this conversation somehow. Don't listen to him. Cos this guy, he's full of it. Cos really, I'm dirty. No, I don't mean that in a sexual way. I mean unless you like that. Do you like that? I-I... I mean it could be. See what I mean? Hey, John. Get your ass over here. Time for some shots. Looks like our presence is requested in the kitchen. He'll have to screw this conversation later. Don't leave, OK. Please, don't leave. Take a nut. Everybody, alright, grab a glass. Grab a glass... Hey, shut up. Grab a glass. You too, Astrid. OK, I'm not one for speeches. So I'm gonna keep it short. For the past year I've come to know all of you like a family. And I love each of you very much. - Especially you. - I know, I know. Last year when we drove out here I never would've thought I'd be the only one left still unemployed. So, having said that I'm down to strike a little deal with you guys. The first person, the first person who gets me a job I will let have sex with my blow-up doll. Yeah! OK, put her away. It's just a joke, John. I was trying to have fun with the people. OK, raise them high and toast to friends. To, correction, family, family, good tunes, good brew and the best first year anybody could ever hope to have in this huge city. - Cheers! - Yeah! Up there. Seconds. Who wants seconds? I'll keep these toasts goin' all night. John. (rock music continues playing, chatter continues) What's the deal, man? Didn't you guys break up like two weeks ago? I can go kick his ass if you want. No, I'm fine, you guys. This is a celebration, right? - And we're celebrating. - Alright, brother. (blowing a raspberry) Yeah! - Alright, I'll be right back. - (indistinct chatter) Tori. Hi. John, hi. - How are you? - Good. Good, things are really good. - Uh, how about yourself? - Uh, good, yeah, yeah. I've just been really busy with school and... other stuff. So who is your friend here? Oh, God, I'm sorry. This is Jacob. Jacob, nice to meet you. I'm John. Tori's told me a lot about you. I just want you to know that she's in good hands. Really? That's-that's good to hear. Very comforting. - I hope that this isn't awkward. - No, no, no. This, it's fine, right. We're all adults. It's good. So, Jacob, can I get you anything to drink? Glad you asked. I'm kinda feeling a Long Island ice tea. I'm not gonna lie. (chuckling) Alright, that's... I'll go get that for you. - Long Island ice tea? - Looks like he never heard it before. What a rookie. So, what's the verdict? Uh, you know, what I thought. A typical frat boy. He looks like such a cowgirl with that shirt on. I can take his head and dunk it in my toilet. - You OK? - Yeah, I'm fine. Hey, I know it's hard. But it's a big city. There are plenty of good girls. You just need one. Yeah, he's right. What do you know, Adam? How many girls have you been with since you got here? - Shut up. - No, you shut up. - No, you shut up. - Can we be mature here, please? - Please? - Mature? - Yeah. - Really? We now have breaking news. We go to the top story of the hour. Guys, come over here. Check this out. Whoa, whoa, whoa, what's going on? - I don't know. - Everyone, shut up. Yeah, yeah, I got this on. You might be one of many viewers trying to figure out what those mysterious bright lights are up in the sky. The truth is that you're not alone. NASA along with the Russian space program just alerted the media that it is believed to be a group of meteors from deep outer space. They went on to say that they are investigating the matter but need more time to make a valid assessment. However, some astronomers managed to come to their own conclusion after remote surface temperature readings indicated that the meteors are mostly comprised of ice resembling glaciers rather than rocks. The space programs quickly wrapped up the press conference by saying that these meteors pose absolutely no threat to us. And are expected to safely pass by Earth early tomorrow morning. Dude, I see it. (male #1): 'Seriously?' - Oh my God, where is it? - There it is. (foreboding music) Oh, my gosh, imagine that thing actually hit us. Whoa, that's scary. (Scott): How did they say it was? (chatter, rock music continues playing) This calls for shots. - Oh, no. - Come on. Hey, you said it yourself we missed out on the apocalypse. This deserves a toast. I already poured these so shut up and drink. Everybody get in here. John, get your head in the game. Grab a glass. A toast to tomorrow. Because with each night you live you never know what tomorrow is gonna bring. - Am I right? - I'll drink to that. Cheers. (foreboding music) (sirens wailing) (wailing continues) (wailing continues) (horn blares) (horn blares, wailing continues) (wailing continues, horn blares) (dull boom) (whooshing) (explosion) (explosion) (high-pitched whine) (explosions) (alarms blare) - Hello? - (whooshing) (explosions) (helicopter whirring) (sirens wailing, horn blares) (helicopter whirring) (unsettling music) (sirens continue wailing) (dramatic note) Adam, Adam. What happened? I don't know, man. I don't freaking know. - Where is everybody? - Your guess is as good as mine. Just go in the house and turn off the gas. and go to Davie's and make sure they're OK. OK, alright. (tense music) (sirens wailing) (tense music continues) (helicopter whirring) (sirens wailing, horn blares) (tense music continues) David. David. He's out front. What's going on? I don't know. Just stay inside. - David. - We're out here. - Are you guys OK? - Yeah, we're alright. Amy, Amy, stay inside till we know what's going on, alright. Dude, what's going on? Hey, what do you guys see up there? Lot's of smoke. Looks like Downtown. - Possibly North Hollywood. - How bad is it? Looks pretty freaking bad. What the hell is going on? My sister goes to UCLA. Some things hit the campus. - Like what? - She doesn't know. But they're hittin' everywhere. Amy? - Amy, stay inside. - Have you seen my brother? - Amy? - Have you seen my brother? Not since last night. I don't know where he is. OK, I'll check in with you later. Alright, good luck. Be careful. Amy, stay inside. (helicopter whirring) (tense music intensifies) (tense, percussive music) (music continues) - What's it saying? - Shut up, turn it up, Adam. ...reported in Los Angeles area. 'Ranging from Downtown, all the way to Santa Monica. Police and fire departments are working together. But have said thousands if not tens of thousands of citizens have been injured or even killed - in this horrifying incident. - Oh, my God. We can't yet confirm, but sources are indicating that the explosions may or may not be related to last night's meteor sighting... - Where's my brother? - I thought he was with you. Where's my brother? Where is Turner? I don't know. He said he was gonna stay at his friend's house. Ricky, or Mickey, Mickey. Damn it. What, where are you going? We strongly recommend our viewers to stay indoors until we figure out exactly what's going on (tense, percussive music continues) (sirens wailing) (horn blares) (bike bell rings) (tense, percussive music continues) (tyres screech) (tyres screech) - 'Yeah, hello?' - Turner, thank God. - Are you alright? - 'You seeing what's happening?' Listen to me. Just stay where you are. - I'm coming to get you. - 'Why?' - 'We're perfectly fine.' - Just wait at Mickey's. - I'm on way, alright? - (call distorts) - Did you hear me? - 'What?' Look, just wait at Mickey's. I'm coming to get you. Hello? Turner. Shit! (tense, percussive music continues) (helicopter whirring) Turner. Hello. Turner? 'And now we're being told that more might be on the way.' Official satellite photographs indicate that yet another meteor roughly the size of a school bus may hit the city within the following hour. We recommend our viewers you seek shelter immediately. The government is instructing people to follow... - Hey, wait, Mickey. - 'What?' Where's my brother? Everybody's at the top of the parking structure trying to get a better look. Are you coming? (tense, percussive music continues) - Turner. - Hey! Hey, check it out, bro. It's freaking madness out there. - Look we have to go. - Are you kidding me? We have front row seats. Jimmy's gone to get some beer. The news said they might be more. We have to go. Check it out. I think one just hit West LA. Wow, this is really freaking exciting, man. Come on, we have to go right now. Hey, Mickey, save me some beers, alright. (tense, percussive music continues) (sirens wailing) (whooshing) Get in the car and put your seatbelt. - What, why? - Just do what I say. Whatever, grandpa! There, you happy now? (engine revving, tyres screech) (horn blares) Jesus Christ, this is ridiculous. What should we do? We get back to the house and wait for things to calm down. (chuckles) I can't believe this is happening. It's so exciting. Just call the guys, alright. - Tell them to pack some stuff. - Alright, alright. - Damn it, it's not working. - Try it again. Alright. - Watch out! - (horn blares, tyres screech) (crash! tyres screeching) (male on radio): But I can assure you that the police are out there taking care of every situation as quickly as possible. Now turning to another note, I'm getting some more news regarding this potential meteor that's on it's way to Los Angeles as I speak right now. And I don't know anything about it. Wait, wait, now I'm getting reports that it's on it's way. If you look outside you can see... - Everybody get inside! Everybody get inside! - (static) (whooshing) (explosion) (explosion) (shattering) (explosion) (car alarm blares) (explosion) (crashing) (crashing) (low, unsettling music) Is it over? (SIGHS) 1 TENSE MUSIC SPARKS CRACKLE JOINTS CRACK (SIGHS) SOFT MUSIC BEEPING, INDISTINCT ANNOUNCEMENT LOUD CLATTERING LOUD CLATTERING CAR ALARM CHIRPS ENGINE STARTS TYRES SKID TENSE MUSIC (wind howling) (dull boom) (coughing) I can't see anything. Nothing but smoke. (John): Keep the door shut. You don't want any of that smoke to get inside. God, is this really happening? - (continues coughing) - Adam, are you OK? Yeah. I think it's just the smoke. Power must be out in the whole damn neighbourhood. Anybody seen any street lights that are working? It's the middle of the day. Turner, where's the radio? Check under the tool drawer. I can't believe this is happening. - Do you think anybody's dead? - (coughing continues) (static) Wait, I see people outside. Should we make sure they're OK? What do we do? No, not yet. Wait till the smoke dies out. (coughing) (indistinct on radio) Wait, go back. (male on radio): Miles of Los Angeles sits in a cloud of smoke. Police and fire have been halted until further notice. We're getting reports of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people are believed to be dead. - Oh, my God. - And we can expect this number to increase in the following hours... - Jesus Christ. - We've been told by the government to relay this message. Do not attempt to vacate the city. And stay away from other people. We're requesting all our listeners to stay indoors. Do not try to vacate the city. - LAX and all... - So that's it, we're stuck in here now? No, no, there's no way I'm staying in here. Why'd they say to stay away from other people? We don't know what's going on. They know more than us. So we have to do what they say. Yeah, but what's the big deal, I inhale some smoke? My girlfriend lives eight blocks from here. I gotta make sure if she's OK. - I'll bring her back. - He's right. We should group up. Alright, - go on. But come right back. - You got it. - I'm going too. - No, no. You're staying here. Oh, what, you're the boss of me now? You're my kid brother. So you're my responsibility. John, you may be my older brother. That doesn't mean shit when it comes to me making my own decisions. Maybe if you use logic, I wouldn't have to babysit you. - Oh, is that right? - Yeah. - Come on, guys. - Guys, stop it. What are you doing? Come on. You could fight about this later. But right now, gosh darn it, you need to calm down. Now go drink some milk or something. Are you coming? We'll be right back. (door opens, shuts) (ominous music) (aircraft whooshes) (sirens wailing) (helicopters whirring) (low, unsettling music) (shattering) (alarm blares) (helicopter whirrs) (aircraft whooshes) (sirens wailing) Alright, come on. Alright, come on, through here. - Which one is it? - Number three, up top. Astrid. - Astrid? - (barking) Whoa, whoa. Wait, wait, wait. (door creaks) Astrid? Baby. - Astrid. - Nate, we're in here. - (coughing) - Astrid. Oh, my God, what happened? What's wrong? She was fine like 20 minutes ago. And then she just fell down. OK, baby, just hold on. What's happening to me? (helicopters whirring) (foreboding music) (music continues) (sobs) I can't breathe. Turner, get in here. Just hold on. Everything's gonna be OK, alright? Just try and breathe slowly. - Concentrate on breathing. - I can't breathe. Jesus Christ, Nate, what happened? I don't know. I have no idea. What should we do? Maybe get her back to the house, OK? No, we need to call an ambulance. You think I didn't try? The phones aren't working. I tried, like, 20 times. Scott should know what to do. He can help. Scott's a veterinarian. Yeah, I know that. But look, he's all we got, OK? (gasping) - Turner. - Alright, alright. Just go get all the batteries and flashlights as you can. - And any food too. - OK. - OK. - Hang in there. Grab her arm. We're gonna lift you. Can you stand? - Can you stand? - Grab her arm. (Nate): We're gonna lift you. Can you stand? (voices distort) - Hang in there. - Grab her arm. We're are gonna lift you, OK? Can you stand? Hang in there. Hang in there. Grab her arm. (voices echo, distort) (low, jarring music) (male on TV): If you power goes out remain calm. And assist family members or neighbours who may be vulnerable of exposure. I think I see more people. - (clattering) - (male on TV): Locate a flashlight and batteries to use until power come back on. Do not use candles. What was that? I think the power clicked back on. Adam, check the breaker. (male on TV): Turn off major electric appliances that were on when the power went. This will also prevent power surges when electricity is restored. Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible. I think that's it. Yeah, that's it. Power's back on. Is there anything we should be doing like trying to call the police? I already tried that. It's not working. We have to see what's going on. If you're just now joining us, reports are coming in that over the waves that thousands of people are now becoming extremely ill. Due to he toxins released from the glacial meteors... - Turn it up. - ...that made landfall a while ago. Reports state that numerous people were becoming sick and forced the government to basically quarantine the city until they figure out exactly what is going on. We've been hearing that people are becoming mentally ill. And in some cases showing extreme violence Symptoms that can only be related... Is there's something in the smoke that's making people violent? (male on TV): ...began quarantining the city just under an hour ago. Is that even possible? Do not come into contact with anyone who may show these symptoms. For they are considered extremely dangerous. And not mention, possibly contagious. Baby, hang in there. We're gonna get you help, OK? - How much further? - Just a few more blocks. - (sirens wailing) (menacing music) Easy, easy, easy. Scott, get over here. Oh my God, what happened? We don't know. Just get over here and help. Easy, easy. Scott, she needs your help. - But I'm not a doctor. - Yeah, I know that. Just do something, damn it, please. She's burning up. Somebody grab some towels, put some water on them, OK? I'm on it. God, her heart sounds like it's gonna explode. Do we have any aspirins? Somebody get some aspirins. (Astrid): Please, help! (Astrid yells) Astrid, it's gonna be OK. John, get a flashlight too. - Scott, what else? - I don't know, God, damn it. Oh, please... Please help me. - Please. - It's alright. Give me the aspirin, John. Here. Thank you. - Hang in there. - How did this start? She just was acting funny. And then she started bleeding. I don't know. Did she take other medication? Anything thing at all? - I don't know. - Come on, yes or no. - No. - OK. Here's the towels. Take some of these. Try and swallow. Try to get some in there. It's just like the TV said. - What? - What are you talking about? It's something in the smoke. It's making people sick. Astrid's not the only one. It's happening all across the city. What's causing it? They don't know. It has to be some type of amoeba or a spore. Something inhaled through the smoke. Wait, wait, if that's the case, why aren't we all sick? I mean we've all inhaled some of that stuff, right? Yeah, but from I've studied, if it is a respiratory virus some people will show effects immediately and it may not affect others at all. (moaning) Baby, what's happening? (dramatic, unsettling music) - She's convulsing. Hold her arm. - What? Wait, what? Hold her arms down. - Come on, baby. - Hold on. Baby! Do something, damn it! Do something. Is she OK? Do something. (low, unsettling music) She's dead. What? (sobbing) Astrid. Babe. No. No! I need a drink. (sobbing) (screaming) (sobbing) (low, unsettling music continues) OK, OK. We need to come up with a plan. Plan? What kind of plan? To get the hell out of here. You saw what happened, right? But you heard the TV. They've quarantined Los Angeles. - Where are we gonna go? - I don't know. But unless we wanna end up like Astrid, we really don't have a choice. Look, Scott, you said so yourself. It can affect each one of us differently. That means any one of us can start showing symptoms anytime. Then what can we do? Who's got a plan? (low, unsettling music continues) We can all head to the coast. Follow the beach up north. That's actually not such a bad idea, you know. The coastal winds will help dilute the air some. It'll be less threatening to breathe it there. OK, well, how will we get there? I mean, who has a car close by? My roommates'. It's in the parking garage on 28th. It's a walk but I think we can make it. Alright. Alright, that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna take the car to the coast and we're gonna drive ourselves out of here. We're taking her with us. Nate. You can't be serious. I can't just leave her here. Just look at her. - She's gone. - I don't care. We're taking her with us. Jesus, Nate. John's right. OK, man, listen to logic. I know, I know it's hard to accept Astrid's gone, OK? But for all we know she may be contagious. We can't take that risk. We have to go. And we have to leave her. - No. - Yeah, man, just have a drink. And calm down. I don't want a goddamn drink, OK. Look, either we're taking her with us. Or I'm staying. Do you understand? I'm not about to abandon her like some kind of dead dog. I'm not gonna do that. Don't ask me to do that. Either we take her with us or I'm staying. She's gone. We can't take a dead body with us. We don't have room in the car. (dramatic, menacing music) Astrid. Astrid. (snarls) (woman screaming) - Astrid. - (growling) (demonic growling) Get her off me. Get her off me. (dramatic tense music) (demonic growling) (shattering) (low, unsettling music) (snarling) (snarling) (yells) (low, unsettling music) Did that or did that not just happen? Scott. Is she alright? She's dead. She's freaking dead. The whole city could be like this. Anybody else thinks it's time for us to get out of here? Nate? Alright. The sun's gonna be down soon. So if we're gonna do this, we do it now. Grab only what you need. We leave this house in five minutes. (helicopter whirring) (dramatic, percussive music) (music continues) This is it. - (keys clatter) - (whispers): Scott, do you live here or not? (whispers): 'Shut up! I just never used the back entrance. 'Besides I'm a little nervous. I've never stolen a car before. (whispers): Scott, stop talking and open the door. 'There, got it.' (low, unsettling music) So what's the plan? What roads are we taking? I say we take Lincoln all the way to Wilshire then hop on the 1 north up to Malibu. - We have to make a stop first. - Whoa, wait a minute. We're not stopping anywhere. You're talking about Tori? I've to make sure she's OK. You've no idea where she is right now. Maybe she's in a car heading out of town. Or worse, she could be sick. - That sounds risky. - I don't care what you think. It's on the way. And if you're adamant against it, I'll go alone. - It's on the way? - Yes. If she's not there, then we go on without her, got it? Yeah. Alright. Let's go. That's it, guys. The car is over by the elevators. I'm gonna run upstairs, and get the keys. Make it fast. We should start checking these cars - for something useful. - Yeah, that's a good idea. Everybody split up. But nobody leave this level. We meet back here in five minutes, got it? (low, unsettling music) (music intensifies) (John): Adam, come on. (low, unsettling music) (music continues) (panting) Alright, wait right here, alright? (low, unsettling music continues) Hey. (panting) (low, sinister music) (music continues) Oh, thank God. - Hello, Reggie. - (phone beeping) Reggie, you here? Hello. Where did you put your keys? Thank you. (clattering) (indistinct screaming) (muffled screaming) (ominous music) Reggie? (static) - What is that? - I don't know. It's some kind of radio. Maybe you should try another channel. (ominous music) Reggie, you in there? Hello? (door squeaks) Oh, thank God, man. Reggie, we're all leaving town, man. Come on, let's go. (breathes heavily) Reggie, come on, lets go, man. (breathes hoarsely) Reggie? (sinister music) Oh, my God. On second thought, you better stay here. (growling) (intense, percussive music) (music continues) (heavy breathing) (sharp note) (intense music) (low, unsettling music) (music continues) Hello? (low, unsettling music continues) (music continues) Hello? - (static) - Hey, hey, I got somethin'. What is it? - I don't know, it's a weak signal. - (indistinct radio transmission) What is that? Should you try saying something? - Hello? - (static) - Hello? - (static) Can anybody hear me? (suspenseful music) (music continues) (growling) (screams) No! (intense, percussive music) (growling) (grunts repeatedly) (low, unsettling music) (growling) You OK? Whoa, whoa, whoa, what happened? You guys OK? Yeah, we're fine. Did you guys find anything useful? Just a radio. We can't reach anyone from down here though. Jesus, it's been 10 minutes. Where the hell is Scott? (breathing heavily) I think we need a new plan. (growling) (yells, grunts) I can't hold it. What do we do? Run! (screaming) (intense, percussive music) (gunshots) (trigger clicks) (gun clatters) Where do we go? Scott! South tunnels! Be more specific! Keep going forward! (growling) - Scott, which way? - Left, left! - Which way, Scott? - Left, left! Turn left! (intense, percussive music continues) Nate, come on! Keep going. Nate! Just go! (screaming) Ah! (growling) Ah! (yelling) (growling) (yelping) (squelching) (yelling) (eerie music) (whooshing) (whooshing) Well... What do we do now, huh?! Which one of you has a bright idea now?! - Just calm down. - I'm not gonna calm down, John. You wanna know why? Cos none of us are gonna make it outta here alive! - (spits) - What do we do now? What are we gonna do? Alright, new plan. My car is only about a mile from here. Considering the circumstances, that's our best bet. I'm going for Tori now. Oh, my God, John. You can't serious. Really? Her place is only a couple of blocks from here. If I get her now, we don't have to stop later. Alright, no bullshit, if she's not there then we leave without her. - You got it? - Yeah. What if you don't make it? Huh? How will we even know?! If we're not there in 40 minutes, you leave without us. Do you understand me? Yes. Alright. Then that's the plan. I'm going with you. You sure? Yeah. Alright. Forty minutes. See you there. Take care of yourself. You too. (low, unsettling music) What? You're kidding me. Wait! (eerie music) (music continues) (whooshing) (dull booming) (dramatic note) (ominous music) (music continues) (shattering) (ominous music continues) (growling) (ominous music continues) (breathes hoarsely) (footsteps scrape) (growling) (dull boom) (helicopter whirring) (ominous music builds) (whooshing) (buzzing) (alarm ringing) (elevator beeping) (muzak plays) (elevator beeping) (low, unsettling music) - (door squeaks) - (man on TV): ...and assist family members and neighbours who may be vulnerable or exposed to extreme heat or cold. (glass shattering) Ow! John? Oh, my God, Jo... What are you`? What are you doing here? Why the hell did you just hit me? I didn't know it was you. John, are you OK? - I'm fine. - Are you alright? I'm fine. My God! You're bleeding, alright. Come on, let's take care of it. Tori, is everything OK? Yeah, it's fine. It's just John. Hi, I'm Tori's boyfriend, Jacob. Nice to meet you too. (low, unsettling music) OK, this is gonna sting a little bit. (groans) You have no idea how happy I am to see you. Really? I wouldn't have guessed that. What are you guys doing here? We came here to get you. To get me. OK. Why? - You don't know? - Know what? There's something in the smoke making people change. Making people sick. And we're on our way outta here and I just couldn't... You couldn't what? I couldn't leave without making sure you're OK. You OK? Yeah, I'm fine. Look, alright, I appreciate your concern. But we are perfectly fine. You don't understand, if you stay here, you can die. Both of you. Trust us. Well, then what's the plan? We meet up at Turner's car. We drive up the coast and get the hell outta this mess. - That's it? That's the plan? - Yeah. That's the plan. You're coming with us. So you and Jason can go grab whatever you need so we can get outta here. - His name's Jacob. - What? Never mind. (low, unsettling music continues) Adam... (whooshing) (low, ominous music) Alright, is everybody ready? - Yeah. - Jacob? - Yeah, I think so. - (static, beeping) (woman on radio): The following public announcement has been provided by the US military in an attempt - to warn survivors... - What is that? What is that? (man on radio): ...we're unable to maintain control. At 0500, orders are in place for the US military to begin the use of chemical weapons over the city of Los Angeles. If you're able to vacate the premises you have until 5am to do so. Wait, wait a minute. Chemical weapons? What the hell are they talkin' about? What's going on? It must be worse than we thought. How long does that give us? Less than five hours. Jesus. What do we do? We stick to the plan. We meet up with Turner. Everybody, we're leaving now. I'm not going. What? I'm staying. Tori, if you don't mind, I'd like to just stay here. If that's OK. No, that's not part of the plan. We all go. John, I'm sick. You've seen what I'm gonna become. I'd rather do it alone than burden my friends. - Maybe he should stay here` - You shut the hell up. Nobody asked your opinion. We're leaving this apartment. All of us. And that includes you. Got it? Alright, let's go. (low, foreboding music) (door shuts) (door creaking) What the hell was that? (ominous music) (thudding) (dull knocking) (ominous music swells) (heavy breathing) (whispering): Go, go. Just go. Just go. (door creaks, shuts) (breathes heavily) (breathes heavily) Shh, shh, shh. (ominous music continues) (music continues) (growling) (snarls) Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go! (intense, percussive music) (snarls) Adam, come on! You guys go. Adam, I mean it. Come on! Please, give me this. Just get outta here. Go! (intense, percussive music builds) (low, unsettling music) (wind whistles, whooshing) (door shuts) (whooshing) (low, unsettling music continues) (helicopter whirring) (rock music plays tinnily) (low, unsettling music) (whooshing) Hey, hey, up here. We're on level four. The stairs, over there. It's about time. What took you guys so long? Just get in the car. Wait, wait, where's Adam? He didn't make it. Alright, let's get moving here. Remember we're on the clock? What's he talkin' about? We heard on the radio they're gonna start bombing the city in a few hours. - You can't be serious. - I hate this city. Alright. Everybody buckle up. I ain't stoppin' this car for nothing. (engine starts) (ominous music) (tyres screech) (engine revs, tyres screech) I can't believe this. After all I've given this city... All the parking tickets I've paid. I was planning on paying all my taxes on top of things. Only for them to return the favour by dropping bombs on us in a crisis. What the hell kinda town is this? Who the hell is this guy? My name is Jacob. (scoffs) Well, Jacob, would you mind shutting your face while I drive your ass to safety? I can't think with these stupid noises coming from your freakin' mouth. My father happens to be a very powerful Congressman. And one day, I plan on being a state senator. So I would watch the tone in which you're speaking. 'The tone in which you're speaking'? - Quit it, Turner. - No! Who the hell talks like that? Who wanna know who? You mother. Cos I had sex with her last night. Will both of you just shut the hell up? Look, I don't know who think you are, but from what I gather, one of my best friends just died trying to save your worthless life. So please forgive me if I politely ask you to shut your freaking mouth before I kick your ass out of this car! How's that for a tone, dipshit? Turner, just drive the damn car. I don't know how she picked you over my brother. This world just continues to surprise me. (engine revs) (tyres screech) Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's this? (tyres screech) Hey, get outta the way. (honking) Are you deaf? Get outta the way. Come on! No this-this isn't right. I don't like this. What do you want me to do? Run her over? (low, ominous music) (engine idles) Turner. Put the car in park and get outta the vehicle. Everybody, just stay calm, OK? I'm not gonna ask again! Just do what the man says, alright? No. What? (slowly): I'm not giving him this car. Jesus Christ, Turner, that man has a gun, come on! - Do what he says. - You think I can't see that? Don't mess with him. He just wants the car. I'm not giving him this goddamn car! Turner, we'll get another car. Just do what he says. - Everybody, hold on. - Turner, please. Please don't do this. (ominous music builds) (engine revs) Get down! (gunshots) (tyres screeching) (low, unsettling music) No! Oh, my God, Scott! (sobs) - Scott! Scott! - What happened? - He shot him! - What?! Scott... Scott, Scott, I'm so sorry. Scott! Oh, my God! Tell me what to do. What should we do? What should we do? Scott! Jesus, Turner, do something! Come on, we don't have time for this. Better keep going. I'm so sorry, man. Please forgive me. - It's OK. - It's all my fault. Forgive me. Tori, get in the car now. We're going. - John, do something. - You're fine. Just hang in there... Scott! Scott! Hey! Scott! (Turner): Scott! (poignant music) - Scott! Scott! - Turner, he's dead... (sobbing) - Scott! - We have to go. We have to go. Turner, come on, man. We have to go! (Turner): Scott... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. (poignant music) (whooshing) (whooshing) Turner, what are you doing? Is he OK? Just give us a second. (poignant music continues) Turner,... we have to go. Do you hear me? It's all my fault. Scott's dead. And it's all my fault. (helicopter whirring) It's not your fault. None of this is your fault. You did the right thing back there. Even if the rest of us were too afraid to admit it. All I wanted to do was save us. I know. I know. But, look... it's over. There's nothing you can do to bring Scott back. Or any of our friends. What's done is done. But we have to keep moving. Or else we're gonna be next. Do you understand? Now, the coast is only a few blocks away. We don't have a lot of time. So come on. Let's go. (menacing music) (distant explosions) Hey, isn't that my car? (menacing music continues) (indicator clicks steadily) (Turner): Jesus. Looks like something got to him. (Tori): What happened? Payback for stealing my car, that's what happened. Shut up, Turner. (whooshing) (low, unsettling music) (music continues) Is he OK? He's dead. (menacing music) Come on. Let's go. (whooshing) (whooshing) (man on speaker): Remain calm and assist family members or neighbours... Locate a flashlight and batteries to use until power comes back on. Do not use candles, as this can cause a fire. Turn off sensitive electric equipment such as computers and television. Turn off major electrical appliances that were on when the power went off. - (growling) - This will help to prevent power surges when electricity is restored. Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to keep cold in and heat out. Do not use the stove to heat your home. This can cause a fire or a fatal gas leak. Use extreme caution while driving. - Listen to news... - Stop! Stop! Stop! Please, I can't. I can't. We can't stop. And it's not much further, come on. I can't. Look at me. Look at me. We have to keep moving. I'm sorry. It's OK. It's just a few more blocks. I promise. No. I mean, I'm sorry that I left you. (poignant music) It's all my fault, you know. And I just... I just needed you to know that I'm sorry. I know. (growling) (intense, percussive music) Oh, my God. Come on. (growling) - Turner! - You guys go. - Don't give me that crap. - Come on! - Look, I know what I'm doing! We're never gonna make it unless` No, we can make it. Just do what I say. I make my own decisions, remember? Now go! Turner! Turner! - Turner! - Come on. No! Hey, over here. (growling) - Go on, get me! - (growling) (intense, percussive music continues) (growling) (growling) (growling) (growling) (whooshing) (low, unsettling music) (rapid footsteps approach) (growling) (intense, percussive music) (growling) (squelch!) (coughs, groans) (menacing music) (snarls) (growling) (whack! snarling) (breathes hoarsely) (groans, coughs) (poignant music) (music continues) (breathes heavily) (music becomes tense) (unsettling music) (music continues) Goodbye, brother.
